David Colpman, a senior vice president at Shire Plc, has been promoted to head up global business development at the company, effective 1 June. This follows the retirement of Barbara Deptula. Mr Colpman has worked for more than 12 years at Shire, a period during which he has lead managed many of the company’s most important deals. Prior to joining Shire, he worked at Glaxo Wellcome, Novo Nordisk and Boots Pharmaceuticals in a variety of business development and commercial roles. He will report to Angus Russell, the chief executive.
Simultaneously, Shire announced the promotion of Ann Judge, senior vice president of global human resources, to the executive committee of the company. Ms Judge will continue to manage human resources in her new leadership post.
Shire Plc announced the promotions on 1 June 2012.
