Darrin Disley, until recently the chief executive of Horizon Discovery Group Plc, has been appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in recognition of his service to UK life science. Dr Disley is an advisor, investor and philanthropist in addition to his recent role as CEO at Horizon which is developing technology for gene and gene modulation. He holds a BSc in chemistry from the University of Salford and a PhD in biotechnology from the University of Cambridge. At Cambridge, he is an Enterprise Fellow at the Department of Chemical Engineering and Institute of Biotechnology.
Dr Disley’s award was announced on 9 June 2018
