Verona Pharma Plc has appointed Christina Ackermann, a lawyer and experienced executive, to its board of directors as a non-executive director. Verona’s lead respiratory disease product is under review at the US Food and Drug Administration. Ms Ackermann most recently served as general counsel and head of ophthalmic pharmaceuticals at Bausch + Lomb Corp where she was responsible for the commercialisation of prescription products across the portfolio and global legal affairs. Prior to this, she held multiple leadership positions at Novartis. Ms Ackermann holds a bachelor of laws degree from Queen’s University in Canada and a post graduate diploma in EC competition law from King’s College London in the UK.
Verona announced the appointment on 31 August September 2023.
