Austria-based Themis AG has appointed Christian Mandl, an expert in vaccine development, to chair its new scientific advisory board as it progresses its pipeline of vaccines for infectious diseases. Dr Mandl was previously global head of research at Novartis Vaccines. Prior to this, he was a professor of the Medical University of Vienna.
He is joined on the board by W. Paul Duprex, a professor of microbiology at the Boston University School of Medicine; Stephen Thomas, a professor of medicine at the State University of New York; and Nadia Tornieporth, a professor of clinical research at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Hannover, Germany.
