Charlotte Deane, a professor of structural bioinformatics at the University of Oxford, has joined Exscientia Plc as chief scientist of biologics AI, a new position at the UK drug discovery company. She is also head of the university’s protein informatics group. She will maintain both of the university positions whilst undertaking her new role at Exscientia. Professor Deane was formerly deputy executive chair of the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council at UK Research and Innovation. She was also a member of SAGE, the UK government’s scientific advisory group for emergencies which has been active during the Covid-19 pandemic.
