BenevolentAI, a UK developer of advanced AI for drug discovery, has appointed Catherine Isted as chief financial officer, to support the execution of the company’s strategic plans and to drive growth. With over 25 years in the life sciences industry, Ms Isted has held senior leadership and finance positions at major pharma companies and in healthcare related banking.
She was most recently CEO of ReNeuron, a developer of stem cell-derived exosome technologies, having previously been CFO. Prior to this, Ms Isted headed corporate development and investor relations at Oxford Biomedica Plc at a time of significant growth for the company. She started her career as a bench scientist at Merck Sharp & Dohme before moving into their finance department as an accountant. Ms Isted holds a chemistry degree from the University of Leicester, UK and is a qualified Chartered Management Accountant.
