Alkermes Plc has appointed the former Celgene Corp executive C. Todd Nichols as its new senior vice president for sales and marketing to help commercialise its portfolio of medicines for chronic diseases. He will take up the position on 13 May, reporting to the company’s chief executive Richard Pops.
Mr Nichols was most recently head of marketing and sales for inflammation and immunology at Celgene. He began his career in 1997 at Schering-Plough (now part of Merck & Co Inc) where he held a variety of sales and marketing positions across multiple therapeutic areas. He joined Biogen Inc in 2014 to head US sales and field operations.
Mr Nichols holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Elon University in North Carolina, US.
Alkermes announced the appointment on 24 April 2019.
