The BioIndustry Association has appointed Clive Dix as its new chairman, effective 1 January 2008. Dr Dix will succeed Simon Best, who will be stepping down after two years as chairman but will remain a member of the board. Dr Dix is currently non-executive chairman of Modern Biosciences Plc and was previously co-founder and chief executive of PowderMed Ltd.
The BIA has also appointed two new board directors. They are, Timothy Edwards, chief executive officer of Cellzome and Alistair Riddell, chairman of the board of Surface Therapeutics Ltd.
