Bayer AG has appointed Bhavesh Ashar as senior vice president and head of oncology at its US pharmaceutical division. Mr Ashar joins Bayer from Sanofi SA where he was head of the US oncology division. In that role he was responsible for a portfolio that included solid tumour, haematology and transplant products. Prior to joining Sanofi, Mr Ashar worked at McKinsey & Company. He holds a bachelor’s of science degree in mathematics from Imperial College London, UK, and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, US.
