Bavarian Nordic A/S has appointed Laurence De Moerlooze as chief medical officer, effective April, to help the company advance a portfolio led by vaccines against smallpox and commercial vaccines against rabies and tick-borne encephalitis. Dr De Moerlooze joins from Takeda Vaccines Inc where she has led development of vaccines against Zika virus and Norovirus since 2017. Before that, she worked for more than 15 years at GlaxoSmithKline Plc in medical affairs and vaccine development.
Bavarian Nordic announced the appointment on 28 January 2020.
