AstraZeneca Plc is nominating Leif Johansson, chairman of LM Ericsson, to the position of non-executive director of the company. Shareholders will be asked to approve the appointment on 26 April after which Mr Johansson is expected to become non-executive chairman, replacing Louis Schweitzer, who is retiring.
In addition, the company is nominating Graham Chipchase, chief executive of Rexam Plc, and Geneviève Berger, chief research and development officer at Unilever Plc, as non-executive directors.
It is expected that Mr Johansson will join the nomination and governance committee; Mr Chipchase, the audit committee and Ms Berger, the science committee.
AstraZeneca announced the appointments on 1 March 2012.
