Arnie Purushotham is one of three senior clinicians who have been appointed to advise Cancer Research UK as the charity seeks to accelerate its research programme. Prof Purushotham is director of the King’s Health Partners Cancer Centre and a consultant surgeon at Guy’s and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust, London.
The other two advisors are Pamela Kearns, chair of paediatric oncology and director of the Cancer Research UK Clinical Trials Unit at the School of Cancer Sciences in the University of Birmingham and Richard Roope, a general practitioner in Hampshire who has extensive experience in the early diagnosis of cancer.
Cancer Research UK announced the appointments on 30 May 2015.
