Shire Plc has announced the appointment of Soren Tulstrup as senior vice president and head of its mucopolysaccharides franchise within its human genetic therapies business unit. Mr Tulstrup is the former president and CEO of Santaris Pharma A/S where he helped conclude four partnerships including an ongoing collaboration with Shire. Mr Tulstrup will report to Sylvie Grégoire, president of the human genetic therapies business, and will be based in Switzerland.
Before joining Santaris, Mr Tulstrup was a manager at Merck & Co. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in business administration (international business) and modern languages and a Master of Science degree in economics and business administration.
Shire announced the appointment on 30 July 2012.
