The UK’s Northern Health Science Alliance, which promotes the interest of health research universities, NHS teaching trusts and academic health science networks across northern England, has appointed Seamus O’Neill as its chief executive officer. Dr O’Neill, who holds a PhD in genetics from Queen’s University in Northern Ireland, is currently chairman of the national AHSN Network, which is composed of 15 regional networks, and chief executive of the Academic Health Science Network for Northeast and North Cumbria. He will be leaving these posts at the end of August.
The Northern Health Science Alliance announced the appointment on 30 May 2019.
