Sanofi-aventis has appointed Jérôme Contamine as its chief financial officer. He replaces Laurence Debroux, who was temporarily appointed CFO in December 2008 and retains her other job as the French pharmaceutical company’s chief strategist.
Mr Contamine was previously CFO and deputy general manager of Veolia Environment, the French waste management and water company.
He is a graduate of France’s Ecole Nationale d’Administration and spent four years at the Cour des Comptes as a senior state general auditor.
