The Swiss chemicals and biotechnology company Lonza Group AG has appointed Pierre-Alain Ruffieux, currently head of global pharma technical operations at Roche, as its new chief executive. Dr Ruffieux will take up his post in November. A chemical engineer by training, Dr Ruffieux has over 20 years experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, specialising in technical development, manufacturing and quality. Before his current post at Roche, he worked in a senior capacity at Novartis.
Lonza Group AG announced the appointment on 5 June 2020.
