IP Group Plc has appointed Francis Carpenter to its board of directors as a non-executive director.
Mr Carpenter was previously chief executive officer of the European Investment Fund (EIF), holding that position for nearly six years until his retirement in February 2008. This fund provides seed money and venture capital to small and medium-sized enterprises in the European Union.
Mr Carpenter is also former secretary general of the European Investment Bank, a major shareholder in the EIF.
Founded in 2001, IP Group is an intellectual property commercialisation company specialising in commercialising university technology.
