Edward Kim of the Levine Cancer Institute in North Carolina, US has been appointed chair of a new scientific advisory board at Inivata Ltd, a UK company developing a liquid biopsy test for cancer. He is joined on the board by five other cancer specialists from the US and France. They include Benjamin Besse, a medical oncologist at Gustave Roussy Cancer Centre in Paris; Ramaswamy Govindan, professor of medicine at Washington University School of Medicine; Geoffrey Oxnard, assistant professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School; Lee Schwartzberg, executive director of the West Cancer Center in Memphis, Tennessee and Sandra Swain, professor of medicine at Georgetown University School of Medicine.
Inivata is working with Genomics England, a government-backed company, to analyse blood samples from patients in the National Health Service for evidence of cancer.
Inivata announced the appointments on 26 October 2017.
