Biotica Technology Ltd of Cambridge UK has appointed Edward E. Hodgkin as its new chief executive officer and a director of the company with responsibility for implementing the company’s strategy for growth. Dr Hodgkin was previously president and chief business officer at BrainCells, Inc in San Diego, California, where he helped establish the company’s platform and product pipeline through partnerships and in-licensing.
Biotica is a privately-held drug discovery company which was spun out from the University of Cambridge in 1996. It focuses on the discovery and development of therapeutics derived from polyketides, which are secondary metabolites from bacteria, fungi, plants and animals.
