The Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) has named Deepak Khanna as its president-elect. He will serve a one-year term from April 2012, with the option of serving a further 12 months.
Mr Khanna is a senior vice president and UK managing director of Merck Sharp & Dohme. He is also a member of the ABPI board, chairman of its health technology assessment taskforce and chairman of the American Pharmaceutical Group. He was born in Britain and holds BA and MBA degrees from the University of California. He has dual British-American nationality.
